Front stage left of my bus stop on the bethnal green road there is a
frosted glass door framed with cheap aluminium. An a5 piece of paper
is stuck to the inside with the chaff from a sheet of music cassette
labels. Printed out in twenty-point arial is the number of the
building. A young japanese man opens the door and reaches out into the
street. He has a small plywood ramp in his hand. He lays it against
the front step, tamps it secure, then wheels his scooter down into the
street. The ramp stays put.
